Joseph's update | Week 2

Hello everyone,

I just wanted to give you guys a quick update on Joseph's condition. We are still on the CDH roller coaster. But it's not fun. He had a good day on Tuesday and his ECMO flow went down to 200! They were planning to ween him off the ECMO flow to see if he could hold his own and then the next day he wasn't doing so well and they ended up turning the flow up to 300. He's back down to a flow of 270 now but he is having problems with his blood pressure being too high. The nurses and docs aren't sure why. Hopefully he'll have another good day soon. He is enjoying our company though, and we love being in the NICU with him! We witnessed him open his eyes for the first time Thursday night and that was simply amazing. He was also baptized on Thursday.

Here is Carla rubbing lotion on his skin. He likes it but he hates when people touch his feet.

His little body is so swollen and full of fluids that he looks like a fat baby. The swelling will go away as soon as he is off ECMO.

His nurse Lisa made a special Angel Blanket for him. She loves him so much and spoils him all the time. Such an amazing person! (That's her on the right in the 2nd photo from the top)

I have to send a special thank you out to all the nurses, doctors, and technicians that take care of Joseph 24/7. They love him so much and it shows in the care and treatment he is receiving. Also, I'd like to thank all of you wonderful people who keep Joseph and our family in your prayers. It's working.

Joseph keep up the fight. You can beat the CDH monster. Your blanket is beautiful. It great to hear that your special nurse is spoiling you. Dont let your mommy forget to keep your lips moist too the air is so dy in the NICU it would make Nayeli's lips chap.
Thinking of you and we have you in our prayers.

Sky + Carla;

Today was a pleasure to be with Carla and her mom, as well as Carla's friends. I could not see Joseph, but I am hoping to see him soon. The pictures are adorable; he is such a cute baby. God has a path for him and we all know that he is going to be great!! We all keep praying for him and for you guys. I know this coming week is going to be tough one, but we will pray for him and keep our good energy towards him.

Love;

Santa

Hi Carla and Sky,
Santa informed me of her visit with you guys today. And told me about What will be going on next week. I will continue to pray for him and i know that god is with you guys and will help Joseph be very strong. I am sure he is here to stay. My daughters pray for him as well and who better to ask god for something than children who are so innocent. They have seen his pics and also say he is cute and hope he gets good soon.
Thinking of you

I am keeping you in my prayers, always!

May I ask what camera and lens are you using to photograph?. Even though the conditions are not the better, your photos are great.
